Congratulations to the Xavier School Grade School Table Tennis Team for garnering top and 2nd Runner-up honors in the 3rd St. Stephen High School Table Tennis Invitational Championships held last 06 August 2016.
Lead by Coach Joan Kassey Sibal and Assistant Timothy Aquitana, the team was composed of:
Team A: Micah Anjelo Co (G6F) and Kyle Rafael Li (G6E)
Team B: Kyle Zander Ting (G6D) and Vince Abdulramon Banatao (G4D)
Under the Modified Corbillion format, the teams played Singles(A), Singles(B), and Doubles. Team A blanked St. Stephen 2-0 for the title, while Team B bowed 0-2 to Uno High School in the Semi-Finals.
Despite being beginners, having started training in Table Tennis only last April, the Grade School Teams brought home the Gold and Bronze Trophies.
On behalf of the team, the coaches express their gratitude to the team members (HS and GS) for all their hard work. The coaches would also like to thank the Athletics Department led by Mr. Larry De Las Peñas (Athletics Director), Ms. Jane Agcaoili, Ms. Jill San Diego and Mr. Billy Naluz for the all the support. Many thanks as well to all the parents for their unconditional love and support for the players.
