12 February 2016
Dear Xavier School Nuvali Parents,
We would like to invite you to the following Lenten activities at Xavier School Nuvali, to help all in the community enter into a more meaningful observance of the season.
Lenten concert by the Bukas Palad Music Ministry
For almost thirty years, Bukas Palad has been praising the Lord through their gift of music. Founded by Fr. Manoling Francisco, SJ, and some of his lay friends among whom are Mr. Norman Agatep and Mr. Jandi Arboleda, the group is behind very familiar Mass hymns like Anima Christi, I Will Sing Forever, and Pag-aalala. This Lent, they are promoting their latest album, Behold the Cross.
The free mini-concert will follow the usual 5:00 p.m. anticipated Mass on Saturday, February 20.
Community Stations of the Cross
On Wednesday, February 24, 3:40 p.m., those who wish may join a community-wide Stations of the Cross around the school campus. This is an optional activity that is open to all students, faculty, staff, and parents.
Holy Week Recollection and Paschal Triduum
For the first time, the school will organize three days of morning recollections from Holy Thursday, March 24, to Holy Saturday, March 26. There will be separate sessions for adults and children/youth. The information sheet and registration form are attached.
The Paschal Triduum will be celebrated at the Oratory of St. Francis Xavier as follows:
Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper, Holy Thursday 5:00 p.m.
Celebration of the Lord’s Passion, Good Friday 3:00 p.m.
Easter Vigil 8:00 p.m.
Kindly spread the word about these activities.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
(sgd.)
