Last August 3-8, 2018, the final round of the Asian International Mathematical Olympiad Open Contest (AIMO) was held in Bangkok, Thailand.

AIMO is an annual international Olympiad competition originated from Hong Kong and is organized by the Asia International Mathematical Olympiad Union since 2012. The competition is participated in by 13 countries with the mission to provide students with a venue to improve their mathematical skills and thinking minds through cultural exchange and making stronger bonds and cooperation with Asian students of different countries.

At the end of the competition, two Xaverians brought pride to the school and the country. They are Matthew Shawn Tansiongkun of Grade 10-B and Marcus Tansiongkun of Grade 8-A.

Matthew won three awards, namely, the Gold Honor, Overall Second Runner-up for the Grade 9 category, and the Star of International Philippines, making him the highest scorer in the Philippine Delegation. Marcus won the Silver Honor.

The Xavier School community congratulates these two brothers and thank them for bringing pride to their school and country. Luceat Lux!
