FENCING
The Xavier School Nuvali fencing team is composed of four young men: Rafa Jimenez, Axel Isaac, Migo Miranda, and Mark Rodriguez. Last May 5, 2018, 2 members–Rafa and Migo only as Axel and Mark were with the summer China tour group–represented the school in the National Cadet and Juniors Fencing Championships organized by the Philippine Fencing Association. The competition was held at the Philippine Fencing Hall in the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
Despite having only 2 years of training under coach Gerardo Jimenez and limited competition experience, the pair showed their mettle on the piste and took home the bronze medal after having lost to the Ateneo High School team in the match for silver.
