20 October 2015
Dear Members of the Xavier Community,
Over the weekend, our country has yet again been victimized by another natural calamity, Typhoon Lando; particularly in the regions north of Metro Manila. The relentless rains and strong winds have proven to be catastrophic, resulting to damages and unfavorable circumstances around these areas, including Cabiao, Nueva Ecija, where a number of high school volunteers, along with faculty volunteers, went thrice to build houses in the GK Village there. So far, 4778 families (30,247 people) have already been affected by Lando (some of whom are displaced).
It is in this light that Xavier School, in close coordination with the High School Student Council, is now organizing “Call of Duty: Reloaded”, a relief effort to collect monetary donations for all those affected by the effects of Typhoon Lando in many parts of Luzon. We would like to seek your help in supporting the said project.
In order to address the urgent needs of the victims, we will be collecting cash and checks for the meantime. This will eventually expand to goods and other things once we have identified what our partners in Nueva Ecija need. Kindly place your cash or check donations in an envelope and indicate both donor (name and section of student) and amount details and forward to the Accounting Office. Checks must be made payable to Xavier School, Inc.
The school will accept your donations starting today, October 20, Tuesday until October 26, Monday.
In addition, the High School Student Council is preparing follow-up projects to sustain our efforts in helping our fellow Filipino brothers and sisters recover from the aftermath of the typhoon.
We hope for your most generous support in this endeavor.
Luceat Lux! Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam!
Sincerely,
(sgd.) (sgd.)
