We adore you O Christ, and we praise you,
because by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world

Scripture:
Meanwhile, standing near the cross of Jesus were his mother, and His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Cleopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw His mother and the disciple whom He loved standing beside her, He said to His mother, “Woman, here is your son.” Then He said to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his own home.” (John 19:25 – 27)

Reflection:
Every day, we face challenges that will shake our faith in God and our faith within ourselves. When Jesus told Mary, “Woman, behold your son!” we are reminded to believe, to strengthen our faith in God’s wisdom, despite everything that we are going through.

These past months, I was overwhelmed by the events, situations, and concerns spread out among my personal, family, and work life. Silently, I tried to console myself, while I continued to pray that He may calm my bothered spirit, praying for that gift of faith, that even during trying times, I can walk with faith. He gently reminded me to trust Him that although things may not work out the way I want them to, I will end up being a better person after all, that God will present himself to the people who will least show love to us.

Let God handle the things that we can’t, but most especially the things that we can.

Because having faith is to humble ourselves in his presence.
