We adore you O Christ, and we praise you,
because by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world
Scripture:
Then Pilate handed Jesus over to them to be crucified. So they took Jesus; and carrying the cross by himself, He went out to what is called The Place of the Skull, which in Hebrew is called Golgotha. (John 19:16 – 17)
Reflection:
This station of the cross where Jesus received the cross reminds us that we all have our personal cross to carry in our lives. Sometimes we question why we have to experience unfortunate events, pain and loss of loved-ones, sickness in the family and financial burdens. Most of the times, we don’t know the answers. But that is where our faith starts to grow deeper. When we are so down, that is where we experience God’s presence and unconditional love. Every time we allow ourselves to carry the cross, we become closer to Christ. We feel His pain and we learn to understand more. And just like Jesus at Mount Calvary, it is when we are so wounded and broken that God makes us whole again.
